Santa has long since been and gone
presents and wrappings are strewn all around
Dinner is eaten, dishes are done
Love for family and friends is once again found.

We made it through another year,
filled with good wishes and holiday cheer,
And all heard us say as we drove out of sight --

We went to Mass to give thanks and praise
For bringing us a savior this very special day.

My child is all tuck in now as we wait in a daze
to celebrate the birth of the child born in the hay.

We still have stockings to stuff and cookies to put out
for that Jolly St. Nick that makes us want to shout,
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOODNIGHT.

But first say a prayer for all those who fight
to keep us safe and secure tonight.

And for those who don't have a home or a bed
we pray for their safety and a place to lay their head.

For we are all God's children whereever we are
and our savior born this evening is never very far.

So count your blessings as you awake
for another day to celebrate!
