It's Snowing!

Hey - I know there's a lot of folks on this forum who'll wonder what all the fuss is about, but this morning there's been more snow than I've seen in years! Only a couple of inches, but enough to make me decide to work at home rather than battling with bad roads and late trains.

My son's school is about the only one in the county still open - bet you can imagine how impressed he was!

How's everyone else in the UK coping?

It sounds where ever you live nowadays that the weather seems to go to extremes. In Perth W.A we are heading into drought with temps in the 40s celcius.

Trish! I am very please to say that I have my feet up today with quite an odd but nice light coming through the roof light windows, as they are covered in snow. It’s a bit like being in an igloo with windows.
All a bit unusual for the UK.

In Rochdale we have these pathetic little wisps, like it's trying to snow but it isn't having much luck. We are expecting some later in the day though. Brrrrrrrrr. Lol

Trish! Shame on you! Lol I can't believe how the southern half of our country grinds to a halt with the slightest snowfall. Lol I remember walking to school and work through feet of the stuff! Lol We haven't had any for a long time but as long as the roads are gritted it's business as usual up here.

Ah yes, but the road outside my house is never gritted (out in the country), and I've already come off worse in an argument with the ice once this year!

Snow already melting on the ground, turning to sleet as it falls. I expect it's coming your way! Never lasts long, does it?

It maybe snowing there but here in Echuca Australia we are having 38 to 40 celcius and on water restrictions.

I feel like a real weenie here in San Francisco. It go down to 48 degrees last night, and should sit right around 54/5 today.. but it is cold for us, and the dang furnace quit yesterday!
Got a repair guy coming this morning, and meanwhile we are bundling up and drinking Bill's wonderful tea..

LOL My seventeen year old Godson has never seen enough snow to build a big fat snowman - you know the ones where you roll a ball of snow around the park and grows really huge? He build a real skinny one once but it melted before the day was out. The kids would wonder what hit them if we had a really big snowfall. It was kinda nice though. Lol
