    I think this is using the art principle of "negative space" - anyone read (and tried) Betty Edwards' book Drawing on the right side of the brain? Drawing what's NOT there is as important as drawing what is there, the hole in the donut principle.

    Those learned in eastern art could probably also tell us a thing or two... oooops, the above IS eastern art... lol!

      you're welcome... or R U more British in Canada - "dont mention it"? LOL :-

      Betty Edwards' book is amazing... if you think you can only draw stick figures her exercises will get you drawing, as in DRAWING. The main thing is to draw what you see, not what your brain THINKS is there.

      Anyway, not to ramble too much on this... lol.
