Re: THE OFFICER'S CLUB -- A Place To Gather Daily

PS: Something is wrong with either your Outlook or mine......I have gotten 24 duplicates of the TF emails x 2 (2 different emails, right?)

It is "locking up" my email and broadband connection processing 23mb over and over .... (the video).

    Wazup wit dat???

Reminds me of the Ed Sulivan show and the giant "hook" that came out to pluck unappreciated performers from the stage!

          Ya....whudebber.

If there was voice here I'd ask for the best Ed Sulivan impression.

Oh well I guess I'll just have to imagine and laugh to myself. :)

Re: THE OFFICER'S CLUB -- A Place To Gather Daily

A timely set of musings to riddle your recollections:

                  A. Which Celebrity was purposely kept "tight in frame" during a performance to appease the Censors, and why?

                  B. Which comedian was an "on-again, off-again" visitor due to the nature of his "act"? (and what was the nature of concern?)

                  C. We all know that the Beatles caused quite a stir when performing on Ed Sullivan's show.....but which musical act had to have a green light by the FBI before allowed to set one foot on stage?

                  D. A very private man (despite his long career in 'show business'), Ed Sullivan rarely spoke of his home life, especially to an audience. However, he regularly referred to and on multiple occasions introduced a member of his family on the Show in person: what family member was it? (For an extra 10 points, answer with the Name)

                  E. Ed Sullivan was a household name prior to his Television career, and prior to that his radio career. Where did he earn his popularity?
                  1. A Dance Man
                  2. A Song Man
                  3. A Dramatic Actor
                  4. Vuadeville
                  5. Musical Performer (Piano, Drums, Clarinet, etc.)

If you can answer any of these questions, you are over 45, or, if younger, have too much time on your hands soaking up useless information in vain hopes of being on Jeopardy or becoming the neighborhood Champ for parlor games.

Answers in a day or so.....

LOL...real good! You know I am having flashbacks to growing up Sunday evenings laying on the floor in PJ's watching a B&W TV that it was my job to get up and change the channels.....

                      A. Correct
                      B. Correct, but more for his snide remarks about Ed himself and off-color jokes
                      C. Wow. I am surprised you got that one! Most people have no clue, or don't believe it.
                      D. His daughter, Karen
                      E. Got his start, yes, but not notariety??

IF I remember correctly it was either "Cavalcade of Stars" or "Parade of Stars".....right??? Or was that Milton Berle's thing-a-ma-jig....or Red Skelton's??? OMG....now I am in a brain-loop and can't get out!

                      LOL

It was "Toast of the town" :)

Now we need something that everyone can join in on. :)
                        Hmmmmmmm....

I just don't know what would be general enough for all ages and countries.

What about a Hollywood movie quiz chain?

Hollywood Movies are pretty universal to all English speaking countries and ages.

T.V. shows past a certain date are country specific, even newer ones have different variations in different countries.

                            What do you think?

                                Sorry...how rude of me.

I just realized I didn't take a shot at your questions

                                1) is I Dream of jeanie.....right?!?

                                2) I thought the earliest color t.v. broadcast was "Premiere" featuring Ed Sullivan
