    The World's Shortest Fairy Tale!"

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl "Will you marry me?" The girl said: "NO!"
And the girl lived happily ever after and went shopping, dancing, camping, drank martinis, ate chocolate, always had a clean house, never had to cook, did whatever she wanted, never argued, didn't have to worry about her weight , traveled more, had many lovers, didn't save money, and had all the hot water to herself. She went to the theater, never watched sports, never wore friggin' lacy lingerie that went up her %$%, had high self esteem, never cried or yelled, felt and looked fabulous in sweat pants and was pleasant all the time.

    The End.

      And......

Once upon a time a Prince asked a lovely lady to marry him and she said "NO" and when (after a long period of desperate heartbreak) he was able to put it behind him, he:

got up when he felt like it, put on the same clothes he'd worn yesterday, ate buffalo wings for breakfast washed down with beer, didn't walk the dog or change any diapers, went to the Gladiator Games every weekend, traded the carriage in for a motorcycle, went on unplanned trips (getting joyfully lost without ever asking for directions) and had a maiden in every village.

His royal allowance was never overextended, he put no money aside for the education of nonexistant heirs and saved no money for retirement.

Nevertheless he eventually became King and inherited the old man's money, castle and concubines (whom he replaced with their daughters). He lived to a ripe old age and on his deathbed his loyal chancellor asked "But, Sire, do you regret never having married?"

      He said, "Nah....."

I can tell those are both fairy tales, be cause there was no mention of *******s, medical treatments, ***** pies, or cucumbers. Also the primary needs of a woman to nurture a cild, and the man to have a posterity.
Please excuse any spelling errors, as my education was a fairy tale.

Well that just proves that men have no common sense. If he didnt want married, why did he ask in the first place? Thats like men asking for directions isnt it?

I was basing my hypothesis on the old adage of a girl saying NO! & sometimes means yes. I would now have the come back of saying? (You told me NO)!
It’s a psychological get out clause. (But admittedly, it could back fire.) lol

In my version of this fairy tale I'd also have complete control of the remote. :)

If you live in the UK you may have seen Life in Cold Blood this week, David Attenborough's series on reptiles.

I really think we can learn something from animals - the Shinglebacks mate for life, but are only together for six months of the year. They come together to breed, raise the young, then go off for six months on their own. The same pair can be together for 20 years plus!

After 20 years of marriage I think there could well be something in that idea! LOL
