    Who Is Right?

An English teacher wrote on the chalkboard the words:

"A woman without her man is nothing"

and ask the class to punctuate it correctly.

All the male students wrote:- "A woman, without her man, is nothing."

All the female students wrote:- "A woman: without her, man is nothing."

      Both!

Because if she has a man, i.e. "her" man, she loves him very much and would feel lost without him.

        Hi,

My thoughts would be similar to Karen.

Without a woman to conceive, a man will not exist
        [with the execption of Adam]

The man would say without me you will not concieve in the first place!

I guess it is a stalemate.

this was originlly an exercise in punctuation to show how different meanings can come about by merely moving commas and adding elements ... actually, I think the women were referring to humankind in general and the men were referring to their gender .. and I think that is the difference here ... they are both correct but - it is an interesting exercise in the different perception of/between men and women ...
