Copying an online image from someone else website for my own website. Is that illegal on the internet? I understand a tree is a tree but Sharon Stone standing under the tree naked could be copyrighted and it will be illegal to copy. What if it was a diamond ring? Could it be ljust like a tree? Advise needed.

Hi Allan,

As I told you in the help desk emails. Copyright issues are full
of gray areas and are also very Black and white. It all depends
in what context you want use the image.

For example...If the picture of the diamond ring you are selling was
provided by the distributer, than i dont think he would NOT have any
problem you using it to further the sales of his product.

But if you through some crafty photoshop work you stick the diamond
ring on Sharon Stones finger and use her image for your ring promo,
Their is a very good chance that you will end up in court.
