You're right, Kate. Perms are still decidedly iffy in my book too! Lol. We're poles apart on the bald issue though!

As for the bald thing ...well ..The only time i like a bald head is if its backed up with a goat'ee.....then it looks ....errrrm ...phoarrr

Yes, perms just the word still scares me! I had done those things for most of my younger life!...talk about poodle!...lol...oh yea...and the smell! whoof!...lol

NO you dont...trust me you want soft hair and not dry frizzy hair!...lol...thats way I had done it for so long is because my hair is flat and slightly natural curl...and I wanted it to have life...lol..well it got life!...lol..of its own!....Im still working to keep the frizz down...

I had a perm throughout the 70's ... and beyond lol and its much easier to manage than my straight lank hair beleive me.....perms today arent like they were in those days you know lol ....ther much more gentle now ..just give you that extra bit of body ....more like a shaggy dog than a poodle now lol

No I dont know that...lol...see its been a while..guess I gave up on them too soon!...I did it from the 70's - the 80's...well if it was short then yea I liked it...but I wanted long hair..and thats when the poodle came about...lol..or at least thats what my sister called me!....lol
I went to Obriens school of cosmotology and thats when I two gentlemen from London that were there that infamous day and chopped off my very long poodle, I came out with very very short hair...I loved it myself, but everyone hated it!...oh well, they didnt have to live with it..lol..look at it tho...lol

I remember my Mum having what was, at the time, called an 'afro'. It was hideous. Really, really hideous. She looked like she had hardly any hair and it was horrid. Lol. You're right they do smell terrible!

I dont know if there is a difference between the waters or not. but my great aunt used to get a perm and her hair was blue?.....lol not like the blues here but tinted...are you familiar with that?
when I was young I never wanted to dye my hair because I thought that what older people had to have....lol...
Im still quite nieve....hehheeh!
