Sorry Bruce, But its not an aborigines war dance, Aborigines are from Australia.
The Haka is performed by many Tribes throughout the Pacific. What they are doing, when they perform a Haka is lay down a challenge. They used to do it when the different tribes would go to war. If you watch rugby between the Pacific nations they will all do a Haka. So if New Zealand are playing, say Tonga. Tonga will do their Haka (lay down the challenge) and then New Zealand will do their Haka, return the challenge. All the Haka’s are different as well.
