What little time parents have to actually participate with children nowadays should never be filled with doubt, anger, fear, or distrust.....
Unfortunately, the turmoil of being an adolescent has never been tamed by a proven solution yet, and adding the increased pressures of a society increasingly founded on instant gratification and personal pleasure certainly make the high hopes and expectations parents present to their children seem more like demands and mandates. The tendency for children (and they are children still, learning, copying, striving..) to over-compensate with dramatic actions only shows how far we have strayed from the foundations of human relationships - communication.
**Having a "row" with his father is probably the straw that broke the camel's back, so to speak, but is also more like the tip on an iceberg I imagine....there's more to the story, and what was being written at home...
