Take your age away from your year of birth then search the internet for news articles from that year. For example.

The Long Island Hurricaine
The immediate affect of this powerful hurricane was to decimate many Long Island communities in terms of human and economic losses, however, the long term effects linger today. The '38 Hurricane created the Shinnecock Inlet and widened Moriches Inlet which, to this day, are changing the landscape of the south shore due to their influence on the natural littoral sand transport. History has shown that these powerful storms are rare but do in fact occur with long-term frequency. Case studies have shown that the next time a storm like the Long Island Express roars through, it might be the greatest disaster in U.S. history.

The World Cup
The World Cup in France was played in the play-off system. In the first round, after a fierce match and additional time Poland, a first-time player in the cup, lost to Brasil 5:6. In the second phase Brasil put up a fight with Czechoslovakia and won the game, only to lose to Italy, the defending champion, in the semi-finals. Even though the German team was strengthened by Austrian players, it failed to defeat Switzerland. The Hungarians did well, beating strong teams from Switzerland and Sweden on its way to the final game. They were then easily defeated by the favourite team from Italy. The Italians won for the second time and defended their title as World Cup champion. The Brazilian team won 3. place after a 3:1 victory over Sweden.

The Nazi's
"Der Anschluss" is a German noun that means "a connection." For World War II historians, the term means the annexation of the First Republic of Austria by Nazi Germany, which was proclaimed by Hitler from the balcony of the city hall in Linz on March 13, 1938 after his troops had invaded Austria on March 12th. This was Hitler's first act of aggression against an independent sovereign nation and it was the start of the events that ultimately led to World War II. The Anschluss violated Article 80 of the Treaty of Versailles, the terms of which had been drawn up by the victorious Allies without the participation of the Germans. At the insistence of France and Great Britain, the Treaty of Versailles, which Germany was forced to sign, included the following words...........
