Especially for new website ideas... What is you favourite Sci-Fi Movie?

Nothing recent please, I don't want to be stung by protective movie companies and their expensive copyright licence fee's LOL. Anything before 1999 is good, except the Matirx, too obvious.

Note: yeah I know... Copyrights will always be a problem even with older movies but this is ok, got a lawyer in the family and I am advertising the DVD's for sale on every movie... And I have a lawyer in the family ROFL. Let me worry about that side of things.

If you’re a sci-fi buff, what was the name of the one with a space craft that had a botanical garden onboard with 3 little robot helpers. If you know the name, it was a good film for its time & would be up with my favourites
Would be around the late 70’s

All the ones Amanda has named BUT the ultimate that remained with me since childhood is the ver first STAR WARS.

Others I like are

Journery to the Center of the Earth ...old version.
Aliens
Coccon
Close Encounters of a Third Kind
E.T.
Flash Gordon (quirky but funny)

GOTH, YES.. amazingly usefull... Blade Runner is an ace idea. So is the Abyss. I thought Fifth Element was also an excellent film.

Ooooo.....ooooo...before I forget...THE NEVER ENDING STORY...I love that movie. Do the Indiana Jones movies count - cause I love em alll. The first set of STAR WARS trilogy movies were the best.

All good ideas for sure. I'm working on Starship Troopers (1 & 2) at the moment but I'm definitely coming back to look at this list.

I was considering the Alien Quadrilogy for the next site but that's a hell of a lot of screenshots.

LOL yeeesss, who could forget the Black Lagoon and.... VH, The new BSG is excellent too, I love it, very gritty and moody. I have all the original BSG's on DVD but they dont get watched very often.

Arcives and databases are no good for my project.. I want to hear which are the best Sci-Fi movies straight from the horses mouth otherwise more than a few of my sites will be unpopular compared to others. EG:If two people or more had mentioned the same movie in this thread then that movie site would be the next one to be created.

After Sci-Fi movies it will be gangster movies :)
