Uploading from other sites

www.thewhiteidea.com.au setting it up as an online store using affiliate programs; thus copying and pasting banners into pages; generally goes ok but sometimes won't view at site; images of products; am I supposed to save each image onto my HD, then upload into desired page, then go back and retrieve linking code, so that when clicked on from my site, it takes you to that merchants site? Why don't some banners show up when others do?
Getting very frustrated, plus I'm not even sure how to use this forum. Am I posting into the right place here?
