Domain Name?

My Domain name is: moonnations.com date of sign up: Jan. 12, 2007. My due date for renewal is: 2008/01/12 my question is at the time of my renewal I would like to change my Domain name? Or do I have to re-apply for a new domain name and let go of �moonnations?� Thank you
