Can you build an ecommerce site? Yes. Can you get a merchant account? VH has one available - but I can't tell you if you would be approved and don't know if you're in a country that their merchant account would cover.

You could also elect to use paypal. Or Google Checkout.

The options are yours- depending on how you build the site.
