linking my pages

do i have to register and have a domain before i can do this
so that when i pull up my first page labelled index i see in the far right corners little arrows right/left..nothing happens when i click to go right to the next page...from the tutorials it seems you have to enter after the
http//: mydomain.ca/my story
want to link my pages to gether so that on index page on bottom can have a link to each page shud someone just want to go to photos for examples..then read my story....
