I want to build an ecommerce web site for Australia, where I live.
What are the pros and cons of having a host service overseas?
Will the web site work if I host it in Australia?

Depending on when you work on your website, the time difference can be a major plus. For instance if you work on the site late at night in Australia, its morning to noon in the US, which means there will be someone/more people available for customer support
