Transferring from Homestead to Vodahost

I have a homestead website that I am considering transferring to Vodahost. Its has about a dozen pages and many PDFs. I want to do this in a methodical way suitable for insecure dummies.

What I have done so far is rebuilt my Homestead pages using Voda Site builder. What I imagine doing now is signing up for an account, transferring my domain name (I think I know how to do that), and making it point back to my Homestead account while I upload my new Voda pages and get them all properly connected, and then remove the pointer.

Does this seem like a sensible approach? If not, what would you suggest?
