Temporary domain/site

I have another domain name i can use with site so that my original site can stay "live" during the build.. however already set up account with the main domain that i cant switch yet. how do i go about building the site with this other name with soho OR OScommerce? do i add it on as a subdomain?? this is all very overwhelming!

I am afraid that you can not drive two cars at the same time, in order
for a script to run it must have a proper domain name. You can not run
a script on a temp. domain name.
