    Soho editing newbie question #1

OK, I installed SohoLaunch - no problem

I opened the home page for edit.
BEFORE I do anything else I preview the page to see what it looks like.
I see the default text in the middle of the page.
I click on the text area that I want to change and the text edit box opens.
I make ANY change to the text, and select 'Save Page'.

I again select 'Preview Page' and the text has now disappeared!
I can't seem to make ANY edit changes successfully.

    Why?

1st thing to do is go to the webmaster icon, software updates and make sure you have the latest stable version and update it if you dont. Click the help button and then go to the second tab there IT diagnostics, and make sure you have the permissions fixed correctly, check all three silver bars for any installation errors and run the permission fix at the top there on the list before the silver bars.

    That should fix it.

      Karen,

      That did it! Many thanks!

Be advised that I installed SohoLaunch from your site this morning and it installed v4.91.r7 vs what I just updated to (v4.92.r16).

        Karen,

Actually it only 'fixed' it for about 5 minutes. Now when I try to edit a text box nothing happens. No edit window opens - nothing. Is this Beta software?

Re: Soho editing newbie question #1 - continuing

Update: The problem only appears in Firefox. It's possible that the update Firefox pushed around a few hours ago broke something. Everything appears to work inn Internet Explorer.

Check the IT diagnostics just to be sure. Make sure the permissions arent set to nobody, but to your user name, as this will cause issues down the road.

I havent had an issue in firefox, but you do have to shut off the popup blocker or it will keep it from opening.

              Thanks Karen,

I don't know what is going on, but Firefox is working once again with no changes on my part.

As long as I have a usable working-around, I'm happy. I just thought I was going a little (more) nuts there for a while. grin

              Thanks again for your help!
