    Is Sololaunch best for this?

I want a new website for my photography. I need to password protect each page of photos, and I want customers to be able to order photos and pay for them via the site.

Is it best to do this is Solo or Bv? And how can I password protect the different pages of photos?

Many thanks for any advice! Bit of a departure for me!

Soho would handle this very nicely without a lot of extra work. You simply make each page you want protected a GROUP, and only the persons assigned to that GROUP can login to that page, all done with point and click. No extra forms its all generated within soho, and.. you can take payment for it as well.

When you make the products, the advanced tab, You assign them to that group as well via a drop down menu, so nobody else can actually purchase that product without the user password.

Thanks again! Still waiting for my welcome letter, so I can't get playing yet! Really looking forward to having a go. Especially as my horse is without a saddle this week so I've lots of spare time as I can't ride! (That will make sense to some of you!!) LOL

Wish I had seen your post before!! I made a photography site with password protected pages www.jamesandbarbaraphotography.co.uk with ease by just using BV and not Soho.

I am sure Soho can do this too but at least with BV you don't get all the issues and bugs you do with Soho! (Sorry not a huge fan after trying it once....and once only!)

Must admit I'm comfortable with BV - but have you got the functionality whereby people can order prints of different sizes and pay via paypal? And if I went with BV, could I pick your brains?

Great site by the way - just the sort of thing I want!

                  Trish,

I am sure you could set up paypal to work along side with what you want to do yes.

You could always add a cart on the side or just use paypals cart system. They have the option to create drop down fields. so you could have different sizes, finishes etc.

Always happy to have my brains picked. Just not sure there's much to pick!

Like karen says, in soho you can do this without the extra work that you might encounter in blue voda, but like you say you are more comfortable with blue voda and you have greater flexibility with your design Trish. With paypal, there is a drop down menu choice, however, this doesn't work for pricing, it does work for sizes, colors, but not pricing. However King Naval has put a script on the forum here that you can add that will give you the price drop down menu as well with paypal. You can find what Naval says here http://www.vodahost.com/vodatalk/pay...al-button.html

Once again - thanks for the advice! Will have a look at both. Hopefully I can have something up and running in 3 weeks time!

Get ready for lots of stupid questions! LOL!
