Help -- no icons or picts!

Just installed soho -- logged in -- main menu has no icon pictures -- can link into it, but still no pictures. I downloaded the update and still no pictures -- Can't do much of anything until I can see the templates to choose :O Can you HELP!! Oh, I already took care of pop-ups and cookies.
