age appropriate access page

I am making an 'adult" sales site for a friends business. He needs to have on his front page a 'push this button if your are over 18' button or something similar. How should I do that?
I was thinking a pop-up over the main page, but not sure how I would go about it. Or maybe like a click to enter store~ similar type button. I haven't started anything yet, still planning ;) but I know that this is something that he needs.
If you can point me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it.

Just make a splashpage out of the home page and link to whichever page you want them to see. Doesnt mean kiddies wont click tho..

yeah, I know.. if a kid finds it, they probably will click.. I guess he just wants it for his own peace of mind. Even if I did the birthday thing, kids will lie to look.
