Author identification

I ran my site through an SEO analyzer one of the problems identified was was the issue of authorship.
On the printout sheet I got a SEO score of 84 one of the areas identified was on the line Author, there was no name that the program could find, how can I correct this and improve my score. There are other things that need fixing, but I can pretty well figure that out with the printout sheet, but I can't find a place that identifies who the author is. Can someone help please? the SEO analyzer in question is the one on the About us website

Main menu>View>Page properties>Meta Tags> Author field.

You dont need that meta tag for anything. It wont help you one iota in the SE ranks, or anywhere else.. its just a meta tag that you CAN use and almost NO ONE does.
