    submitting to search engines

when I type in my site name in Google, it brings up a few different ones. does this mean that my site is already submitted to google? If so, does that mean it it submitted to others like OPD, Yahoo, Bing, etc.

    Re: submitting to search engines

The reason I wanted to know is that Google and Yahoo get annoyed with you if you submit your site more than once and OPD just plain boots you out. So before I do something that could jeopardize my search engine optimization, I wanted to know what or Where I had to submit too.

You cant make SE index you.. if its a new site it takes time. The best way to get your site found is by posting links to it.

OPEN SOURCE DIRECTORY is mostly dead...good luck getting listed in it. They have too few volunteers, and the few they do cant possibly do it all..followed by.. they close, open...close...
