Do I use BV or Soholaunch?
I plan to utilize a database with query capability.
In order to add to the database from their own computer, a user will have to register with my website. To verify, an e-mail would be automatically sent to them and then they would be allowed to add data.

Should I completely delete my current account if the answer is Soholaunch?

I would look at a CMS like Joomla. come's with option for members to wright and upload images and so on. but you will to keep a tight rain on who can and who can't as with any software you use.

So this means I will have to learn a new product. Doesn't BV or Soholaunch offer the database capability as well. Less learning on my part.

The both BV and Soho though vodahosts c-panel have database capability but would need heavy scripting and back end interfaces to accomplish what you require.
