How to change background colour in soholaunch text modules

Hi

I would like to know how I can change background in individual text modules. I want to use a standard soholauch template and use different colours in some areas on a page. When I edit individual text box and click on properties, background colour I can select various colours (it shows), then I click SAVE but when I display my whole page the changed colour is not there.

Also how does one change the size of individual modules?
