    OSCommerce Confused and flumoxed

Folks. . .need a helpin hand

Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /home/********/public_html/store/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file.

    1. This warning appears at the top of my eccomerce site. . .don't understand it at all. How do you "set the right user permissions?"

    2. I installed with the SSL on "no". . .but when I try to click through to the cart. ..a big ol warning comes up that says I am a scumbag trying to trick everyone and rob candy from babies. .STAND BACK. . or you can buy from this pondscum. . IF YOU DARE!!!. ..

So I thought maybe I was supposed to turn on "yes" to the SSL. However, in the tutorial it left it at "no" and it said that we could edit it anytime. . .I CANNOT FIND WHERE TO EDIT IT. ..HOW DO I CHANGE THAT SETTING FROM NO TO YES. . (is that my problem??). ..I think I need to lay down awhile. . .thanks everybody! ID#11536

    1) You would need to gointo your filemanger in the control panel, go to the proper directory then change permissions to 444. You can also do this through FTP.

    2) In order to update your shopping cart to have ssl on, you should read the below:

Adding SSL support after install/config - I have already installed and configured my site the way i want it. When I first installed the script I did not have working SSL support on my server but now I do. How should I go about adding SSL support to OScommerce without reinstalling everything/breaking anything? Any help is much appreciated.

I think I solved the problem: uninstall OSCommerce (O.S. must stand for "Oh Sh*t!". . .because that's what I was saying all day yesterday. . .I'll just have people email me if they want to purchase something. . .I'll email back with a link to Paypal. ..or something like that. . I guess.

This is way too complicated for me right now but thanks for your help!

I'm having the same problem too. I went into my filemanager through the control panel but I have no idea where I want to go. I keep getting lost and I don't end up finding the permissions. :(

Actually Scratch that, I found it and set the permissions to 444. It didn't seem to do anything. Any other ideas of how to fix it?
