    Paypal shipping costs

    Hi,

I have Buy Now and Add to Cart buttons for each item.
Under Shipping tab I have Base $3, extra $1, Handling $2 for all buttons.

I ordered 3 different items, 2 of each, (total 6) and the postage cost came to $12 in sandbox. I cant see how the post came to that.

    It should be $3 + $1x5 + $2 = $10, shouldnt it ??

I made a new purchase and ordered 1 only.
Postage was $5 which is correct.
I added 1 of a different item to cart and postage is $10 for 2 items.
    It should be $6.

Can anyone see what the problem is here with multiple purchases?
    I am confused.

    cheers

    Re: Paypal shipping costs

The way I see it, you are charging $2 per item to be shipped ("Handling $2 for all buttons"), and if you have 6 items, that's a total of $12 for "Handling," correct? It doesn't matter if you buying six of the same item, or mix and match 6 totally separate items/styles .... you have a flat rate per item, according to what you stated in your post, and apparently how you set it up in PayPal: 6 x $2 = $12

You are mixing the "per item" formula with a mis-read Postage flat rate, trying to substitute a "Handling Charge" to cover any variations, with an added "extra $1" which you don't detail what the parameters are stipulated.

Methinks you need to clarify your whole logic and stick to a simpler PayPal formula.

      thanks Vasili,
Why is the postage then for 1 item $5, or for 2 $10 ?
It still does not match your theory.
I put the figures in there as per the bv video tutorial on this.
How much more simpler can I do it?
I dont see why 'handling' would automatically becomes 'shipping' costs.
      Handling is an extra charge.
I do have a valid point here.
Something is wrong with configuration of the paypal button in bv.
It needs to be tweeked more.
      cheers

            Hi Vascili,
You have me very dizzy.........suddenly on a merry-go-round, and I need to get off it quick.
I don't understand what you are trying to say......you havent really addressed my issue, your response does not make any sense either.

It appears that Paypal does not agree with you as well.

Please simplify further - if you can, with a viable solution.
You are obviously far more experienced than I will ever be, and I need to learn quickly from your input.

Cheers, and thank you once again.........
