How do I send product codes after purchase without doing it manually via email?

I am selling an electronic software and to activate it requires a key code after purchase. How do I set up with paypal and my website to only send the key code automatically after purchase? (Also how do I insert the list of key codes into a database and make sure they cannot be used twice?)

This requires some custom coding, and a properly configured database function. If you are able to do this yourself, you are better than me!
