    Hi jahoopolson:

Heres the good news, All your links are working fine.....
Nice subject, well presented, and informative....

All pages need to be centered.......contact form needs to be error checked
as I was allowed to submit a blank form.

I can provide you with a PHP script that will take care of that for you if you wish............

Take your email address off your website or else all those spammers and spambots will deluge you with lots of rubbish..........

Just a little tweeking and you will have a nice site.

    good luck
    Have fun
    Regards..... David

Re: New site - first try

Great start! You sure it's your first site?

I keep email addresses on all my sites - figure that's what my spam blocker is for :) But I do go through the spam folder regularly in case something goes to it that I want.

At the end of your pages, double space after the last line - or go down a couple lines and put in a period in the color of the background - just to give the page a tiny bit of space after the last line of text.

Now you need to do some SEO tweaking - starting with your page titles. Have a read of the following (very short) SEO - The Basics ebook - it will tell you what I'm talking about - and get you started. Ask questions if you need some help. But it's very important that you get those titles working for you with the search engines.

Again, I'm very impressed with your first website. And centering is also up to you. On this forum you'll find that most people here are in favor of it. If you traverse the web - you'll find most major sites still aren't doing it. It's a design choice. I, like David, prefer it centered and it's so easy to do.

Thanks for the advice. I would like the PHP script for the form if you provide instructions too!

My email and phone are already listed on the national directory so I'm not sure removing them will help with spam? I'll think about it. Thanks!

Re: New site - first try

Yeah, I also hate just agreeing but have to! Very nice indeed. Esp. considering the subject - warm and inviting and helpful.

Tiny points: there's a line appearing just under About me and the text, tho this may be coz I'm using Firefox ... but check it out. Also "feel free [TO] contact me".

Otherwise lookin' good! I agree - sure it's your 1st site? LOL.

To avoid the spam - could one put jahoop AT hotmail DOT com? Everyone would know what you're driving at? Anyone tried this? Does it work? Just a thought.

                anyway, well done!

                cheers
