    Re: lina

Your page title (not name i.e. index) should reflect the content of the page.
The first word/phrase in your title should be/reflect what a customer would be searching for. For Example:

    Hats blah blah blah

This is an extremely important feature for optimising your site.

Next, would be to make sure that you use words/terms/keywords that someone searching the web for your products would use in your body text. "Content is King"
All of this should be in a properly worded paragraph(s)/sentence(s).

Next, would be sure that you alt tags for images and shapes reflect your keywords also.

DO NOT use any "hidden text". SE's will find it a give you a poor rating.

    Have fun and good luck.

very pretty. I would add some menu buttons on all your pages.

Also you need to fix the links on your Biographies page. Your buttons moved around and are all opening the wrong links. Keep up the good work.

      Well done!

              Re: lina

Your site is quite nice graphically. However, to enable customers to find your site (unless they are specifically using your URL) there must be text content that is directly relevant. This is how you will move up in the SE's.
(text links are considered to be more important than just text)
No content >><< no ranking with the SE's.
My archery website has been online for 5 years. Not until I listened to Bethers and did a lot of research did my site go from unfindable (using search terms relevant to my site) to being on the 2nd & 3rd pages. With a lot more refinement I am now on page 1 on most searches and page 2 on a few others.
The biggest change happened after I went from a nicely graphically designed page with some "flashy" buttons to text links only with the addition of 2 paragraphs of text. I also added a site map.
Last year I had 800,000+ hits. I am well on the way to smashing that level now that I can be found easier.

People want to spend money. Make it easy for them to find you

              Good Luck and have fun.

                    Re: lina

Yes, you need some text to define what your site is about using keywords (words that a shopper would use to find your millinery store)
This is also how a SE will list you.

am having trouble with a few things, buttons and banners seem to be jumping around from one day to the next!
I leave it at night and in the morning it has changed !!

how to tame such a creature?

                          hi Lina

Spending much to much time on this forum when i should be reading the tutorials lol lol lol

Seriously though i am still in the planning stage reasurch etc hope to be up and running within a month for a first website review.

I think troubles are a given when you have a first web site, you made me laugh when you said the next morning things had moved. Unfortunately im not that experienced at web design ( however somone will know why you have moving buttons and banners )

Im sure i will have similar problems when i get up and running.

                          Back to the tutorials....

                          best wishes
                          Mirelle

well ,it has been a learning curve... living in the west of ireland in a remote spot by the sea ,there was NO broad band ,and so I did what I could with out really being able to view any tutorials or ask questions , sure was frustrating at times ( lots of times ) you think road -rage is bad !!!!
wel I enjoyed making the site ... so I was thinking to wait a while and learn some more things and change the site in the future ... bit more swanky !

By the way ... the 21 st century reached us last week!! in the form of two lovely handsome gents that installed my wireless system !!!

What I wouldn't give to be in a remote spot by the sea in Ireland. And now wireless to boot?! The road has risen up to meet you. (hee hee)
