    My Page

Good day, This is my first web page and I would just like some opinions and thoughts about what I have done. I have already received some valuable advice, and since my page is constantly evolving, I could always use more.

    Thanks in advance,
    Shane.

    Hi Shane,

Nice site... One thing that really stands out is the time it takes to download your page. This is because of your images. You need to use a decent pic resizer and reduce the pixels to fit the size of the image rather than squashing images up.

There are loads of threads on the forum about this, if you do a search you will find loads of links to recommended pic resizers.
Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.

hello, lived in north bay for about 3 months many years ago, nice town. sure it has gotten bigger. anyway, your pictures are not loading very quickly. suggest you resize them, actually the top right picture did not load. not sure what the problem would be but your pictures are relatively small and should load quicker.
Think you have a good potential to develope business.
      good luck.

Hi, thanks for the advice on the pic re-sizer, when we open it up here it loads OK, so I didn't know. I get working on it ASAP.

        Shane.
        P.S.
A big shout out to any other colonials out there.

          Hi Shane,

Picture way too large. Most are over 300kb and some close to 500kb. The pixresizer is the good idea. The reason why it is loading fast on your side, is because the whole site is already in cache on your computer. First clear your cache. In IE, click Tools >> Internet Options >> Delete. Then on the dialog, delete the temporary files and the cookies. Not necessary for the history, form data and password though.

Now open your website again and see how slow it loads. Click here to open a site that can test your site for you and it will point out all the problem areas.

          Otherwise, nice site.
          Bless you
          Tom

                  Hey Shane

Site is looking great, will you be constructing more pages under the headings of your services? The more content rich informative pages you have the better your ranking will be in search engines.

                      Hi guys,

I think I have the same problem as Shane. My site is loading abit slower. I did re-resized my pictures to an average of 50 kb per picture. However, I still think my site loads like a granny's site. Can someone give a comment on my site if it's running to slow? Thank you so much..

Is JPEG the smallest size? Is there any other smaller file but produce the same result as JPEG?

                        Hi Shane, fellow Canuck here..
Site looks good, but on your services page, the first point is out of line with the rest. I would also suggest, that you have your pages open within themselves instead of a new page for each section. If you are using a link outside your site, then have it open in another page. You can change the settings by right clicking on the page and going to properties and clearing the target field so that there is nothing written in it. If you want to that is.

Where are these giant pics everyone is mentioning???

                        Cheers
