    Half a site!

I would appreciate some critism and suggestions about my website please.
Please bare in mind only the links to results and events are currently working. I have yet to construct the other pages.

I would also link to use a Flash Intro Template to introduce the site. I have chosen the one I like at: http://www.template-help.com/screens...100/16160.html but I don't want to purchase it if it will be too hard for me to incorporate. My website knowledge is very very poor.

I also noticed that the width of each page is wider than I would like. I have adjusted page properties to 1000 pixels and the image seems fine when previewed. It was only after publishing that I noticed this problem. I'm not sure how to fix this.

    Thank you

    Hi Sam,

For me - that blue text on that background is too hard to read for my old, tired eyes.

As to the width of the page, how wide is the image? No matter what you adjust page properties to, if you have anything outside that width, the page has to adjust to accommodate it.

Thank you Beth. I'll correct my background size.

Also, I'm not Sam. He is my daughter's fiancee. I felt he deserved a site.

        Re: Half a site!

First: the only page I could see, was the result screen. All others gave
        a 404 error.
second: it seemed that it was the buttons that were the culprits
        Try this:
make a new page and fill it with one table, width 100 % (forget about
pixels) This will automatic adopt to screen width. 'Give the table three
rows and three columns. Left and right column handle the margins,
center column the text. Center top row: the name, and the bottom
row is for the text. Then sub-divide the center middle row only into
four (maybe only three) columns and three rows. Place each button
in its own compartment and let the width of these compartments
control the width of the buttons or maybe even replace the with
        text links instead
The table structure will keep the text and buttons/links within
        limits
The hyperlinks all referred to the same page, "home.html"
A separate page for each would be easier to control. I couldn't
see whether this was intentional. It made me think that they
weren't hyperlinks but bookmarks, which must have been wrong?

As for the flash intro, the example you mentions is imo extremely
non-informative and un-neccesary. Besides it took almost a minute
to load, and the text is difficult to read.

        Good Luck otherwise

          Re: Half a site!

Callisto - this is your first post. Have you even used the BV software? Because you are giving information for building that doesn't work the same in this software.

You don't want to use the table suggested above - as you can't insert pictures into the BV table. You could use a table if you want to write the page in html.

That said - you are always better sizing pictures - as doing the above would mean using very large pictures and causing long load times.

Sorry about the incorrect name :) And what a nice thing you're doing - bulding a site for your daughter's fiance. I look forward to seeing more of it.
