Wow, you guys are so kind to have helped me out and offered advice. It was all so encouraging and helpful. I've taken my site down and am now taking all your advice and suggested changes. (To the writing, the font colour etc). I'm going to try and come up with something that keeps the 'coziness' but also incorporates and air of professionalism. Well.. hopefully!

Not so sure it's wise to take it down Emmy. While it's published you'll be gaining valuable 'trustrank' from Google and the like.
