    Greek Island Guesthouse Site

I've just added Greek pages to my site and would really appreciate feedback from English and Greek speakers. I'm mostly
concerned with how easy the site is to navigate and if there might
be a chance that someone gets lost of stuck in any dead ends. I've
been having some problems with the dialog boxes and hope they are
in the right language as they've been switching on their own. Thanks
for taking the time to look around, this forum has been an enormous
    help.

      Greek Island Guesthouse Site

      Hi Vasili,

The Greek 'APXIKH' page is giving me problems. Even though I publish
the top left dialog box in Greek it comes up in English. I'm afraid to
tweak much because the English 'HOME' page was showing up in Greek
for awhile and, as you know, there are many Greeks that speak English
      but not vice versa!

      Thanks,
      Marcie

        Re: Greek Island Guesthouse Site

        Yiasus!

        Three suggstions:
        1. lose the "undertitling" of English and Greek under the flags, as everyone knows what they mean and do....
        2. instead of using text in headers and wondering why they "default", create the same (if not better looking) effects using the LogoMaker, which converts it to an image = universal viewability
        3. replace the About Tzia button, and utilize mini-LogoMaker label instead of text (or lay text on top of button image in Paint, re-save as simgle JPG, crop, re-insert).

The point is to remove conflicting font styles or characters in use: remember BV is CSS formatted, and you cannot have Greek (which is the same as images as far as computers and Windows is concerned, as is Chinese, for example) and Helvetica Family fonts (Arial, Courrier, Tahoma, etc.) expect to "share" the same style conditioning!

The more you make use of the LogoMaker to present fonts as images, the easier it is to keep your styles "clean"....

Is this what you were referring to? Otherwise, I must be tired and gave up looking tooearly...am I bad? Psignomen...

          Thanks Vasili,

I had no idea that using the same font was causing the default!
I agree with you about the flag text but am going to leave it
there for awhile as many people here are not yet internet savvy
          and may miss the link.

I think I'll change the fonts on the Greek page if this will solve the
          problem.

          Thanks again,

            Re: Greek Island Guesthouse Site

Hi, its certainly confusing with the 2 languages.
Some pages have the flags & some don’t. You should have 2 pages looking exactly the same apart from one being in English & one in Greek. The only part in each page that should change is the text.
The only thing is! Is the site wasn’t really built for 2 languages & you may find some areas wont have enough room to fit the text in, with using 2 different alphabets.
It should also be that if you are on the recipes page in English & press the Greek flag, you should go direct to the Greek recipes page that mirrors the English one. That why I was mentioning about using 2 directories’s to keep things tidy.

            Good luck.
            Regards Chris.
