Would love some feedback...

Hi guys,

I know its early days but I´m enjoying website design so much I´ve put this little website together to see if I can get some more work...

It´s mainly for family and friends so they can check out what I can do...

I know I´ve got a long way to go before I can call myself a proper web designer, but you gotta start somewhere...

I´ve done the entire site from scratch using the Gimp (Unbelievable piece of free graphics and image software!) and have really enjoyed the graphics side of things...

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated...

Not a bad design once it finally loaded, took forever. I would also make the image behind the text more transperent it is distracting.

Really smart looking site. The pink circles could perhaps be a few shades lighter...maybe??

I did notice that the small, medium and large links all go to the same page.

Yeah think the image behind the main text could have a little less opacity...

Working on the image sizing and therefore web page loading speeds..

I´ve sorted the main home page image as it was over 390kb!!!

Does anyone know any guidelines for image sizing in order to load pages more quickly?

I heard that all images should be around 10kb or less, but they look awful at this res... so I´m plumping for around 80kb but they seem to load pretty slowly.

Am i missing something?

Thats a nice funky looking site you got there.
I think it will really appeal to people who want something a little different from for their site. I'm sure you will get work from it.

I believe 200kb is optimal per page according to the gurus. I found pages took on average about 15 -20sec on broadband to load which is abit long.
Otherwise, site looks good.

Two things that I suggest is have a colored background, and the pink circles in the tex on your home page and try to change up on the page titles there all the same. Good luck your off to a great start.
