  • New Website

I am new to all of this and this is the first site that I have had the opportunity of working on. I am still in the the process of finishing the site.

Some of the links don't work as those pages haven't been completed yet.

The logo that is across the top of pages is our sign that is on the street. The Color scheme chosen is our company colors.

Our Website is more for those who want to browse through what we have, no purchasing at all.

The goal of the site is to simply allow customers to browse or inventory and get some information on what we provide for services, other than car sales.

We are trying to do this low budget without having to purchase any scripts... the car dealer one seems to be pretty expensive. So I tried to do this with simple links and photos.

The pages that contain information about vehicles are as comprehensive as possible. However, I don't know if what I have here is self defeating (too much information and customers are getting lost in all that is there.)

If anyone could look through and give me an opinion on what see (especially on the pages for a specific vehicle) would be most appreciated.

Like I said, there are some links that don't work right not (about us, sell your car, directions, etc.)because I am not done. (I have to try and do this in my free time while still caring for 3 small children at the same time)

Let me know what you think. I just wanted an initial response before I continue so I can adjust.

    Thanks,
    Sarah

    Re: New Website

    Hi Sarah,
You are off to a great start! IMO, I would tighten up the page where the
vechicle stats are located.. i.e. http://www.carfarmonline.com/01formus.html
perhaps make the fonts a little smaller and have just 2 columns instead of three. On my browser I had to scroll to the right to read all in the 3rd column.
Also, on the inventory page, a small border around each pic would set them off a little more. Nothing elaborate.... just a nice touch.
Good Job! Best of luck with your site!

      Re: New Website

Well you seem to be on the right track........

      but:

Pages are too wide.............try for 800 to 900 width

Background colour is too much.........choose a less bright colour

Keep going as this is not costing you an arm or a pretty leg.......................lol
      Have fun

        Re: New Website

        Okay Great!

        Note to self:
        1. Smaller Page Width
        2. Less Bright Background Color
        3. Border Around Pics
        4. Maybe Smaller Font on Stats.

One issue I ran into when I was doing the stats page was that VB wouldn't let me go down too far. I could place items down there, but couldn't scroll down to see them.

Does anyone know of a way to get around this?

        You help is appreciated.

        Thanks for your comments.
