    Handyman site finished!

I built this site for my step dad, who owns a handyman business. It is only 99% complete, because I just found out today that the Segoe Print font I used in vista isn't installed on XP machines... so I am going to have to pick a new XP-supported font when I get home. BUMMER!

Give me your opinions! My step dad already got 1 customer from the site in less than day! :)

Your site looks great, I have XP and the font (even though you used a different one) defaults to sans sariff and looks good so I would not worry about it. I would however work on your page titles so they are more descriptive and add metatags and keywords to help with SE's.

Sites got a real nice feel to it. Ditto with Ed on the SE part needing some work. Instead of naming your page Jeff Doan inc. It may help with the SE's with something more like Carpenter, cabinet maker, Florida North Dade area, Jeff Doan inc.
But remember these word must be in your pages text to warrant any meaning with the se's

Thanks for the tips about SE's. I am familiar with keyword lists, but I am not entirely sure what makes metatags different from keywords? I will read further into this..

Also, I changed the bolder headlines from Pegoe Print to Tahoma. I do think the Sans Serif looked fine on XP machines, but I'd rather have it the same with all OS's.

          Re: Handyman site finished!

Do you guys have any more advice for organic SEO? I added a metatag description and a keyword list to the HEAD tag... but that didn't do much (I think). A simple search for "south florida handyman" won't get me to the 1st page.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

If you just made the changes it will take time for the SE to crawl your site, you could submit your site to the different search engines or ask VH to do it for you, if I remember correctly they will do it for free, once. Also having good external links to your site from other well indexed sites help.
