    Making a new homepage..

Hi, I've been building a website for my parent's book store since early last summer (with college I can only really work on it during vacations). Obviously the first page I made was the home page, and when I was looking over the site recently I decided that I hated the homepage. As such I've made 2 potential new ones and I would really appreciate your feedback on which you like the most and what I can do to make it better.

    Original Index Page: Original

    New Page 1: Prototype 1

    New Page 2: Prototype 2

^^^^^^ regarding new page 2, note that the website is for a bookstore

    Thank you!!

Never measure the height of the mountain you're climbing. At the summit, look back and see how small it really is!

I like the 2nd one. I would try to center it because the book is to far to the right.

I like your 2nd option better. Did you do that with Voda?

The second option is very nice! The only thing I might change is to swap the contact icon and the news icon, just a thought. It really is quite nice.

Can someone check my website and see if it's working good on your side? Sometimes it looks good in my computer using firefox browser but when i access to other computer especially using IE, it looks awful. anyone having the same problem?

                    Re: Making a new homepage..

2nd one is nice, but will have limitations on available space to place your goods. You might be able to solve this with a slightly different book that could be vertically extended for longer pages.
Also be careful with your image sizes, this page took well over 30seconds to load as it run into the megs rather than kb's.
                    Regards Chris.

im so jealous, I wish I could make my own website, I had already paid for a website with your opposition and its too late to get a refund. Its a real pain if i need to change something i have to go to their tech support guy. I think he is going to delete my contact soon as I keep bugging him to change things. I have an online clothing store and I cant even put info about specials or anything booo hooo!!!
