Hi Alison when I went to the clip art page, it said not to be used by commercial web sites... are we commercial? I really want to animate the guest book on my web site I saw that done and it made me think it made the whole thing more fun and user friendly.

I love your web site, I once had a cake top like your and after 5 years the sugar ants ate it... the Victorians put them under glass domes and added wax flowers, after weddings these are valuable now, perhaps you need to sell the glass domes as well?

Hi Tracie, yes you are right .sorry. Your web site is lovely
Glass domes, what a good idea, I will add them to my list. They are quite expensive but they will keep the Cake Topper's in better condition.
I allways advise people to keep them in a damp and dust free enviroment.
I expect that would suggest something like a glass dome.
            Thank you for that.
Best wishes with your web site and your businness.

hi Alison try doll collector sites (modern dolls) I think they make them out of unbreakable hard platic etc... which would be fine as well if you do a postal service. I will keep my eye open. They will be near Doll stands etc...

how come you picked .net if you don't mind me asking?

Hi Alison, those cakes are really interesting. I really enjoy the different theme ones. My only bit of advice is try and use better quality images. Your cakes are your products, and good pics is what can help them sell through this medium, not flashy movement of letters and etc...

I am definitely no expert, but I prefer a simple clean site when selling such a tangible product. Take for example, any other type of product, the item being sold is usually placed in front of a white background or slightly tinted background to complement whatever product is being sold. You don't need a professional photography session, but you do need better quality pics to show how beautiful these cakes are. Using window's paint program to edit a pic isn't a good idea.

Look forward to seeing more stuff, yumm

                        Re: Cakes With a Difference

Hello Pablo, Thank you for your comments. I have a **** Cyber-shot 3.2 pixel camera, it's not the best I know but it was affordable at the time.
I have tried to inhance my images in Adobe Photoshop 2.
I have not used windows paint. Some have come out better than others, do you think the images are poor because the images are to large? As it happens I am looking to change the outlay of the Novelty cakes page as I feel it's rather crowded.
                        Any advice would be appreciated
                        Alison

                          Hi Alison,
Loved your site and idea. My comments are more marketing related than site development related. After looking at your site, I couldnt help but think about an article in this month's $1,000,000 Blueprints Magazine. It features a couple from Atlanta who has a million dollar buisness doing wedding favors. It may be a good read for you and you could pick up some tips on marketing your cake toppers.

                          Good Luck!
