  • Yucatanchas needs your input!

I have finished one of my websites, Yucatanchas. I used navaldesigns´suggestion and did the metatag analyzer and received good reports on everything but the robot tags... any suggestions?

Please give me all the good and bad I need to know about my site.

    Gracias to all!
    Yucatanchas

It looks ok to me. Are you going to add more pages?
I don't know about robot tags so I can't help you there

        Looking good.
Your pic is out of focus.
I would evenly space the Bill-in-Tulsa and Akumal.
First thing that comes to mind "where is this?" a map or description someplace might come in handy (and I thought I knew the area well).

            Re: Yucatanchas needs your input!

            Charles-

For a static one-page website, the overall concept is well-presented and clearly delivers the directed conclusion (invitation to contact?), but lacks the multiple means to do so. Adding a "reply/contact" form is a simple means to functionalize a one-pager. There is more of an emphasis on contacting the "designer/editor" of the web page than the principals.....and, in addition to what was suggested above (a map?), you have no seemingly planned interior pages to to present what is missed up front: show a schedule/season, approximate prices or options, or "what's included."

More importantly, however, since this is a one-page-splash, the layout is extremely important to be executed with precision and crispness. Beyond re-thinking the resolution of your photos, I would immediately address the alignment of your "elements" (your headline block areas, page blocks, bottom banners, etc.) and center spacing of floating elements, etc. Use the XY axis on the bottom right BV pane to establish registration. It's easier this way.

And, honestly, I would trade some space taken by the self-promotion of the "web designer" with some pertinent content that is sorely missed (as discussed above). Simple suggestions, from another BV dependent soul!

I'll check back in a while to see what you decided to implement.....

                Re: Yucatanchas needs your input!

Thank you very much Vasili for all of your suggestions. The webmaster is gone already... that was my idea as she is not getting paid to learn how to do this and I think she has done a good job.
Now she will be learning how to do the x y axis thing and alignment of the elements.
We have changed the photos to a much higher resolution. Would appreciate comments.
We are looking for a map of the coastline to add and we will learn how to make a form... looks like we will be busy for awhile. I will post another
request for comment when we have things covered.
We thank you too, Spiritsoul for making us feel good about the site.

Thank you all and BV (took me awhile to figure out wht BV was) for making it possible to do this from the jungle of the Yucatan Peninsula!!

                Saludos,

                  Hi Charles,
I did not get to see it before, but I suspect you have done a lot to it since your original posting?
It looks great, very ***** and professional.
I would offer a contact back to you at the end of every discription, still a little light.
Well done, I nearly sent you an enquiry, and I can't afford to go anywhere till my sites start paying!
                  Isn't Vasali just the best!

                    Re: Yucatanchas needs your input!

Very nice 'sir' Charles...it seems so appropriate. Hope you'll come down to Ja. and explore the history of our limestone geology and other untouched areas in the Por Antonio area. and give walks here. Birdlife Ja. gives nature walks...imagine combining the two ...it would be great.

Great infomative sight...a bit of overlapping on the homepage..but other than that..truly great.

I would love to do one of your walks the history lover in me is fascinated.

Well, this forum is wonderful... so many good suggestions. We have made the changes suggested from all of you... more contact me... a map, higher res photos and we hope the alignment and overlap problems have been solved. Please let us know if they are still bad, Ms. Beegud2... would love to walk Jamaica... we are divers and have always wanted to go... if I can interest people in the walks here, maybe we will have the $$$ to go.
Now to learn how to make form, Vasili.
                      And Mark, come down anytime!

                      Thanks all, saludos

One of the best ways to get email forms done quickly and correctly the FIRST go-round is to hook up with Andy128's BV Support website where he provides step-by-step graphically drawn instructions.....(easy to follow, easy to implement without getting technically frustrated)

THEN, when everything is set into stone, go ahead and submit a ticket to get Forms Pro 4 loaded free to your account. It's a great value, and will become invaluable when you tweak out your site further, further, etc.

And Mark?? I don't know if you are being nice or sarcastic....I just call 'em the way I see 'em!
