    Flash intro

I just made a 'flash' intro page for my site. I used Swishmax to make it.
I tried out Macromedia Flash but I got totally lost, and it was far too expensive. Anyway would like feedback about load times/problems. I have tried it in Firefox and IE6 and it seems to work in those.

That's really good! I like it. All though you might want to put a link at the bottom saying Skip Intro so it will bring them right away. I mean, well .. some people are sometimes in a ruch and don't really give a damn you know?
    Best regards,
    Jeremy

Thanks for the replies. I stuck a skip intro on the bottom.

            Re: Flash intro

It’s only me personally, but if a site hasn’t got a skip button. I skip the site. There are one or two large car company’s that have similar intros & some of them take a good 30/40 seconds to load on a 2meg connection, & don’t have a skip. I just move on to the next site. Must admit yours is soothing. & only took about 6 to 7 seconds to load.

            Chris.

Your intro looked great and took almost no time to load--- IE6 high speed. Adding the skip was a good idea--- seems that everyone wants options these days-- its just a hurry up world anymore. Nice work!

Came up fast and was not flashing like so many are. I like it, although I'm fond of water and the rippling effect. Great job!

*****, Roy! Good job. But...you don't have it listed on your software recommendations??

Vasili - The reason I dont have 'Swish' (which is the flash builder) in the software recommendations is that I have only had it 2 days so I am only just finding out about it. The animated water software is free and that is definitely going to be recommended. It is called Sqirlz and is very easy to use.

                          Hey Roy,

I just saw your Flash intro. I have dialup & a 56K modem. Your Flash intro took 3 minutes to load, during which I completely lost interest in why I was there. When it finally loaded, the word on the top of the water was jerky in movement. It's not bad, just not "fluid" enough for me. It may be too much to ask, but could you maybe add some moving objects, like a jumping dolphin or something?

                            Royb:

I liked the efects but thought it was much too dark. also the colors should be in schem with site to convay harmony.

I know what you did is a lot of work and not easy to do. you may now want to change the background color on the other pages to match the intro. That's easy and quick.
