I will have individuals paying yearly dues.
They will need to be assigned user ID and password to access one directory.
Some help please.

Check out the VirtueMart script, Terry ... it has different Membership tiers and even recurring billing.

Which? The BV Login, VirtueMart, or another??
For the BV Login, tap Naval's Forum Signature and send him an email telling him clearly and exactly what you want ... and VirtueMart 'partners' (it's Open Source, you know) will install it for $30-100, depending on any customization or special configurations required.

I'm a firm believer in "implied warranty" for anyone's work, especially on things I'm not up to par on myself: if anything goes wrong, or you want a tweak or two special, you're best bet is to work with the ones that either wrote the script or are fully capable of wrangling it ....

Thanks for the help. I made a couple of inquiries but received no reply. So...I followed ND's tutorial and think that I may have it.
Do the pages generated have to be published to the same directory as the databases?

I seem to be forging ahead albeit slow progress....very slowly
I receive an error message:

Also User Data Base Not Found...
The data base is in the proper directory, function is set to 644 as all other pages in that directory
