    Awstats

A question for the knowledgable ones please:

can someone explain the difference between these three visit titles?
    Unique visitors =334, Number of visits=443 & Hits=22090

The numbers above are for one month and not sure what they mean.
I thought the number of "Hits" was how many people visit my site, or is the number of individual visitors the "number of visits" It's a bit confusing, that's why I'm asking. and what are "Unique visitors"??

    Thanks so much
    Tomissan

Unique visitors means users from different IP addresses.

Visits would include the number of times unique visitors entered your site.

Hits is a meaningless number, it simply means total page views and has nothing to do with the amount of people actually visiting your site. It's easily driven up by search engine spiders.
