How do I add meta description

I need to know how to optimize my site by adding meta descriptions and meta keywords. Can someone explain how, what, and where to put these?

Open up your page right click, click on page properties you will see them on top. when your done and its publish check your pages with www.submitexpress.com free meta analyser tool there I use them all the time very handy.
