Where is the file?

Hi

Sorry for what might seem like a very basic question but I am still new to website publishing.

I have a page on my site used for file uploads. It basically asks visitors to upload their CV.

If they do this where does the file go? I get an email with the form details but can not find the file the customer has uploaded. It is not sent with the email. I have also looked in my CPanel under file manage but can not find it.

Please help!

I think that I have seen a similar question like this before...............

A form will collect data and a script will then send that data back in an email.

A file upload also needs a script to upload the file.

You usually have a directory named uploads to where the script will place the uploaded file.

Please view the bv tutorial on how to upload files to get a better understanding of what is involved.

I have followed the instructions via the tutorials on building a form.

And the form works fine.

You say a file upload needs a script, isn't this automatically done like everything else in BV website builder?

I have no idea how to write a script for the file upload or where to put this script if I could.

Plus I have been through my control panel lots of time and I can not find anything where the files might be placed. e.g File uploads etc or even incoming.

As I no expert please can explain so I can understand.

The built in scrip used will not attach the files to the email. It will, however, send you a link with the full path to the upload file. So you either download it with FTP or, in the case of an image, you can click on the link and view the image on your browser, (and from there use Save As to save it on your own computer).

Do you rcieve the path to the uploaded file ?

its posible that Your upload field is unnamed! No name means that the script can not save/upload the file and send you the link

Name it anything: Image, file, fileupload, whatever you wish.
