I'm trying to upload a file to my website that is in the format tar.gz. It is a quiet big file with a lot of folders and subfolders when extracted so uploading the extracted file through FTP is taking forever since it seem to be having problems with subfolders. So since there is an extract option in file manager I thought I should try and upload the compressed file and extract it from there. Chosing the file and pressing extract only give me a list of the files in the archive but doesn't extract it anywhere. Went searching on the internet and it seems that I'm supposed to get a box where I can chose where to extract it when I press extract but I'm not getting anything like that. If anyone know what the problem might be I would appreciate some help.
