  • Recover deleted files??

Is there any way to recover deleted files in the File Manager of cPanel.

I wanted to delete a file I uploaded but I suspect that another file was accidently selected in addition to the one I wanted gone, and both files were deleted. I'm not sure what the other file was tho, I suspect it was a system file, so possibly crucial.

Any ideas on how to recover them?

Also, when I am in File Manager, I keep getting a message saying "a script may be causing my internet exploer to run slow" and believe me sometimes it does. At times, it takes 10 - 15 sec to react just to moving the scroll bar. Any idea which script and how I can make it quicker again?

Once deleted it is gone forever.

Open a new folder in your pc hard disk and name it BV backup.
Then goto cPanel >backup and download a full backup to the new folder.

If you are lucky maybe it is there, otherwise sayonara.

I know that there are special applications to recover deleted files. I've never used this program, but Advanced File Recovery claims to be able to do the job. If you try it, let us know how it works.

I Know its a little more long winded, but always worth deleting files via logging into your cpanel. At least you get a second chance to recover the file or folder doing it this way. (I lost a whole folder once using the BV FTP)

You could also put in a support ticket and ask them to restore your account to their last backup, or to just take a look and see if they can ADD the system file for you.
