    creating a new database

    why I can`t creat a new database?

While trying to install Joomla, in the part where I have to input database info...

    Database Type
    Host Name
    User Name
    Password
    Database Name

I entered all the information correctly, but I get this error

Access denied for user 'seeker'@'68.251.0.0/55.25.24.0' to database 'joomla' SQL=CREATE DATABASE `joomla` CHARACTER SET `utf8

    also

An error occurred while trying to create the database joomla.
The User may not have privileges to create a database. The required database may need to be created separately before you can install Joomla!.

I went to PHPmydomain to creat a new databse but it sais No Privileges

please do not say that its better to install Jimmla from fantastico because its database dosen`t support arabic.

    any help please!

    Re: creating a new database

phpMyAdmin has no permissions to create a database.

Databases are ONLY created through your cpanel, DB section.

    Related Tutorial: http://www.vodahost.com/demowolf/cpa...eatemysql.html
    or

    depending on your cpanel version.
Once you create a database / username / password and you set permissions for the specific user, you can provide these details in the Joomla installation wizard or in its config file (as required).

usually the host name is localhost. it doesn't look like you put this in correctly.
